What Day Is it? The Day After.

I don't know about you but I feel a little like I don't know what day it is. It feels sortof like a Monday.  Yet it's really a Wednesday.  With another long delicious weekend coming it also feels like a Friday.

Today I worked from home in my PJ's as I typically do on a Monday, and based on the calendar as well as my list of "to-do's" it was a rather busy work day and since it's really Wednesday well as I said,  there were things to do - in spite of that I had this incredible urge to set up a date with my daughter for pizza /movie night - something we did when my kids were little. Or call a friend to meet me for happy hour.

It was a struggle to stay on task.

How is it that before the holiday the twinkle of the italian lights, the images of santa and the holiday baking all make sense... and here it is just one day after and the magic of that disappears? Or looses it's luster? Just isn't magical on the 26th --- although I did see a houseful down the block and one couple armed with gift bags were kissing on the porch - how magical is that ?

I dared not indulge in retail slashing of prices heaven (or is it hell?) and mega returnville - I have been in that crowd when shopping for reduced prices on wrapping paper, but the truth is I used up what I had and next year I am going to come up with a green method for wrapping gifts. It was cool to see ideas pop up in that genre of expression this year. My returns - kids items they didn't care for - can wait.

I had work to do - after all it is Wednesday.

It's month end.

It's not a holiday forever

I have recipes I want to share here and will, but also have some reflecting to do on the year past and the year ahead.

Today was filled with memory lane of the year gone by, and with apprehension of things that didn't quite go as planned ---all in one breath.

Some moments today had this crisp clarity and others had these blurry yet fine lines.

Are you experiencing some fragmentation here?

Ever heard of re-entry? LOVE that word - I remember when I heard it said first and  thought to myself - yes! That's exactly what it is !! I always need a re-entry day for the work week from a weekend - that's called Monday. However by design we / I don't really have a re-entry day for long weekend/Christmas Holiday unless we take the whole week off and have a real holiday which I think in my head is what's happening.

I'm still holiday-ing!!

so take it on and enjoy continued holiday cheer - no charge ( cute ) flickr image credit
